Here’s a word of caution from the video maker: if you want to translate to a different language, by replacing the text but keeping the time code syntax in place, it will work. However, the idiosyncrasies of translation mean that it may not always be as simple in practice. If you translate line by line it might work, however, sometimes to make the translation two or three lines have to be taken into context. So if the translator has to cross lines, they just need to be careful with the .srt file structure.
